Students with autism have a difficult time identifying emotions and identifying the best ways to cope with these varying emotions. For instance when we talk about being frustrated in class, dealing with this frustration may look different for each student. This is why we need different individualized tools for each of my students to utilize. For example, sensory-gel bead shape bags can be used to squeeze when frustrated, which then helps calm my students. Students learn best when they are calm. By donating to this project, you will not only be helping my students regulate their emotions, but you will also be helping to increase student achievement. With your help, my students will have the sensory tools to help them regulate their bodies in order to do their best learning.
