  • Bringing Art to Life: Empowering a Colorful Tomorrow

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

Words can not express our heartfelt gratitude that this project was completely funded. Your contributions will have a transformative impact on nearly 200 elementary and middle school students, providing them with the tools to explore art in ways that were previously out of reach.

With the addition of a color printer, students will now be able to fully appreciate the vibrancy and detail of the art they study and create. Visual aids in true color will enrich their understanding of textures, color theory, and artistic techniques, while access to printed digital art projects will allow our students to engage with modern technology in a creative context.

Your generosity is more than a donation—it’s an investment in the creativity, confidence, and future of every student who walks through my classroom doors. Thank you for helping to create a brighter, more colorful tomorrow for them all.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanna

  • Escape Room Too!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

We would again, like to thank you for contributing to our Escape Room Too project. The students and I are thoroughly enjoying the break from the loud cafeteria and the opportunity to get to know one another on a more personal level.

Students that have been invited to the room have enjoyed playing games together, painting, coloring, lounging, laughing and practicing the art of conversation. They have said things like, "I love it here", "I wish we could stay here all day", "This is the best room in the whole school", "I feel so relaxed when I am here", "This is a nice escape from the school day". The TV has been an especially big hit as they teach me the ins and outs of gaming and using the game control functions on the donated X Box . They always thank me for inviting them and ask when they can come back.

In addition to the respite during lunch time, we are hoping to be able to staff the room so that students can obtain special privilege passes and earn extra time in the room. We will be adding on to this room and its possibilities in the near future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanna

  • Create it, Share it!

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

We would again, like to thank you for contributing to our Create it, Share it project. The students and I have thoroughly enjoyed the use of the new Elmo to help with the projection of our art for the school.

The new Elmo has allowed us to continue the tradition of painting ceiling tiles to add color and excitement to our classrooms. Students draw their designs on paper and iron out all of the rough draft details. When the sketch is completed, students are then able to project and enlarge their drawings onto a classroom ceiling tile. They then trace their designs and paint them.

We have painted tiles in 5 classrooms over the last several years and we are grateful for the new machine which will enable us to continue our work in the 6th classroom and beyond.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lamanna

In order for students to be successful, productive citizens they will need to learn to get along with people from all walks of life. I also believe that compassion and empathy are necessary tools of the future. Many people have different abilities and disabilities. Since painting a picture typically requires the use of your arm/hands, I want my students to understand what it would be like to lose that luxury. For sanitary reasons, painting by using their feet or mouth would require each student their own set of brushes and a canvas heavy enough that won't move while they work.
