Games for Literacy

We live in the 21st-century and we know technology is what drives the world we live in today! It is only natural that technology is starting to drive the curriculum we teach as well. Chromebooks will be used in both reading and math. We have recently started a new math program that requires students to use computers to get the full lesson. With the computers that we have now, students often don't finish the lesson because they are so slow or the computer is giving trouble. In reading, students are using a reading program as a supplemental activity that is fun and engaging. The computers are so slow that they often become disengaged in the activity. The speakers often don't work so they can not hear what is being asked. If my students had working devices, imagine how much success we would see in the classroom. The flow of our room would be smooth and students will feel the success and independence of finishing lessons.
