This upcoming school year we will be having some major changes to our school; we are having another elementary school join our campus due to closures. So these students are going to already be stressed and nervous, but I want them to walk into our classroom and automatically be filled with love and ready to grow as learners. As they walk in and see an innovative classroom setup, my hope for them is to engage their innovation. They always say it starts with the atmosphere and I hope to enhance their atmosphere with our new furniture. Another added benefit would be for students to find their comfort zone in which they work best. So many times you hear teachers say “sit down” or “you can’t lay down while you’re working” but why not?! My philosophy is as long as you are on task I don’t mind where you sit, stand or even wobble - just work. Having the resources to give my students the freedom to work how they want, I feel they will produce a higher quality of work.
