Put Science Right in Their Hands!
Funded Jan 23, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund "Put Science Right in Their Hands"! My students have LOVED using these science materials! The Newton's Cradles were such a hit that a lot of them said they are asking for one for Christmas! They loved exploring and transferring energy with them. Recently we used the thermometers to explore the transfer of heat energy by rubbing sticks together and seeing the temperature change after different ways of rubbing the sticks together. This hands-on learning is so much better than learning through videos. Our circuit activities are coming up very soon where they will get to use the circuits to learn about open and closed circuits and energy conductors. Thank you again for your generosity in helping my science lessons come alive and much more valuable!”

Funded Jul 8, 2022Thank you so much for your donation towards "Mic Check, 1, 2,". Because of these headphones with microphones, students can use a reading program called Amira. Amira is unique because it records the students while they are reading so that I can go back and listen to them later and pinpoint the skills they need help with. Without these headphones with mics, this would not be possible! The students are always excited to go out in the hall and read, which isn't always the case.
We also use the headphones with FligGrid. This is a fun, alternate way to communicate their learning with me without having to write. Not only do the kids love it, it is so helpful for those kids who have so much to say, but really struggle with writing.
Some projects I want to try in the near future are having the students create podcasts or try out journalism and reporting. This will also take their learning to a new level.
Thank you again for your generosity in helping all of this happen!”

Organizing for Learning!
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for your help in funding my project! Because of your generous donations, we now have a nice chrome cart to store our chrome books in. Students can easily find their own numbered chrome book, and easily store it when they are done. They know exactly where it goes, and which cord it plugs into, which saves them and me time on organizing and charging our devices.
Because of the cart, I now have plenty of room on my counters for art and science projects. My room feels less cluttered, which makes for a more organized learning environment for all! Thank you again!”

Funded Oct 10, 2018Having a class set of chromebooks has been so beneficial! We use chromebooks every day, sometimes multiple times a day. Now that I have a class set, I don't have to worry about scheduling conflicts with other teachers whom we would share with. We use technology in every content area. We use the chromebooks in math by having students play games to increase their math fact fluency and practice the skills we are learning in class. In reading, students read books catered to their level and answer comprehension questions which have immediate feedback, something that I am not always able to give them, but is so important. We play science review games to review what we have learned in class. And we write our essays and stories online, which also receive immediate feedback. The students are also learning to code, which is so fun for them and is becoming an important skill.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity to have the technology resources on hand that we need to be successful in this technology-rich world that the students are growing up in!”
