Scholastic News magazine aligns to Common Core, NGSS, and California state standards. This colorful magazine, with engaging current event articles, gets students excited by learning. Throughout the year, students will develop cross-curricular knowledge as well as core reading and writing skills. Some of the skills students will become proficient in through Scholastic News Magazine are: Analyzing nonfiction text, sharpen conversation skills through discussions of text, scientific inquiry and discovery. I look forward to using this magazine as a platform to supplement our current science and social studies curriculum. Furthermore, students will be able to take home each magazine and share their learning.
