4th graders get to experience the life of a geologist. Students will use the kits to classify, explore, identify, and handle the variety of rocks and minerals in the kits selected. We will explore the different types of rocks found in Utah. Students will be able to explore more in depth MOHs Scale of hardness and test out minerals, sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. What better way to have students learn about rocks and minerals than to actually handle and play with rocks and minerals! Having my grant funded will allow students to experience engaging hands-on learning about rocks and minerals.
