  • Classroom Supplies

    Funded Oct 6, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom! The students are going to be so excited to use the sand trays, colored tiles and red crayons with our phonics program. I am grateful for the laminator and chart paper. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Knowles

  • Guided Reading Books

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

Thank you so much for funding our project of guided reading books for my classroom. Currently, the guided reading books are being used by various reading groups in my classroom.

The students in 2 different reading groups love the Henry and Mudge books. These books are rotated between two of my six different guided reading groups. Each day, we meet as a group and read the text and discuss different story elements and different character traits. They have given my students various texts with the same characters and stories that they love.

The nonfiction texts that we received, they love too. They fit in perfect for learning about nonfiction text features. They especially loved the shark books.

When the books first arrived in the boxes, the students were so excited, they could hardly contain themselves. Thank you again for providing my students the opportunity to have more guided reading books available to them in the classroom. We wouldn't have been able to do this without your generous donations."”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Knowles

The use of technology in the classroom is becoming essential as we develop 21st Century Learners for life beyond the classroom. Not only do we utilize technology to collaborate, create, and critically think, but it's utilized to gain necessary skills like keyboarding, learning to navigate and research. The utilization of technology also allows further differentiated instruction in reading and mathematics, thus providing students with academic instruction at their level. In my classroom, at the beginning of the year, we go from learning how to login and navigate the technology to researching full projects, doing digital writing through Google Slides and much more. While I would love for every student to bring in their own Chromebook, it is just not a reality for some. Between what the school provides and what students bring in, right now we are not able to access the Chromebooks as a class throughout the week, except for one time. As we look to close the achievement gap presented in our classrooms, one of the ways to do this, is to provide students with other opportunities through creating and bringing the learning to life. By providing Chromebooks for my students I am looking to do this exact thing. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide for this project.
