Thank you so much for your help in finding our classroom STEM bins. The students will be so excited to add new items to their weekly STEM work! They are enjoying getting to create and problem solve with the items we have, so I know they will continue and grow with the new items!”

  • Life Skills Project

    Funded Sep 27, 2021

Thank you so much for your investment into my classroom and my students. These materials have been very beneficial for each of my students. When we had our first lesson, the students made pancakes. They were so excited that they were able to independently cook something. Some students were taking leadership roles and helping some students that had never cooked before. We have also assigned students cleaning jobs. We are teaching them the importance of a clean environment and giving them the skills to create a clean/organized environment. The last thing we have used this for, is to teach our boys about proper hygiene. This includes laundry, showering, teeth brushing, applying lotion, using deodorant, etc. Teaching these boys life skills is going to benefit them for the rest of their lives. We are beyond grateful for you!”

  • Ramped Up Read-Aloud Books!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for you loving investment into my classroom and students. Each day we have done a read aloud that aligns with a specific reading strategy/skill and the students have showed significant growth! Their MAP scores all improved in reading since the fall. I could not be more happy! Each book engages the students and they even love to re-read some of their favorites! My students have been able to show that they are engaged and learning from each lesson by completing independent assignments that go along with each book. Again, thank you so much!”

  • ED Classroom Mobile Coffee Cart

    Funded Apr 16, 2021

Our coffee cart is off to a GREAT start! Each student applied for different "job positions" for our coffee cart. There were interviews conducted, and then they received their job titles! Along with that, as a classroom, we came up with the prices for our coffee and we came up with our coffee cart name: The Coffee Guys!

Our boys were so excited when the coffee cart materials were delivered. We had a lesson on what each material was and how it was going to be used. This really pumped them up!

Each month we will be using the profits from our coffee cart to donate to a charity of our choice. The students' chose to donate to our local animal shelter. Each student has taken their role and is taking it very seriously. We are loving coffee cart, and our teachers at our school are very excited to receive their coffee every Friday!

Thank you so much for providing this opportunity to us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ruths

This project is for the 2021-2022 school year. Our classroom will have a mobile coffee cart every Friday. Each month, the students will decide on a local charity to donate the coffee cup money to. The students will start by making sure they have enough change in their money box to start off their sales. Each student will be assigned a "job" and each student will wear an apron as to not ruin their clothes. One student will make the coffee in the coffee maker. Another student will make sure we have all of our materials on the coffee cart, ready to go! The materials will include creamer, sweetener, flavors and disposable cups. Students will then sell the coffee to staff members in our building and distribute the coffee to staff, and then count the money each week. At the end of each month, they will be able to give the money earned to the charity that was chosen. This project will help students work on life skills, such as money, leadership, communication, socialization, respect, and the list goes on!
