Understanding Ecosystems
Funded Aug 9, 2022On behalf of Room 3 here at Pacific Elementary, I would like to thank you for donating soil and yarn. We are excited to use these supplies to design and build our own mini version of an ecosystem in May of 2023.
Knowing that students will engineer their own ecosystem has motivated them to learn and understand the relationship between all living and non-living things. Students are currently taking the role of a scientist whose job is to observe the environment and note how all things are connected. The next step for students is to apply their knowledge and learning by designing and constructing their own mini version of an ecosystem.
Again, thank you for supporting us in our learning.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Moua

Funded Aug 10, 2022On behalf of Room 3 here at Pacific Elementary, I would like to thank you for donating crocheting tools. We are thankful for your support which has helped build self-esteem.
My students were extremely excited when they learned crochet was part of this year's curriculum. Eventually, the excitement declined a bit due to the challenge of hand-eye coordination and the understanding of the looping technique, but they never gave up! Crochet also took them on an emotional roller coaster ride. With resources and support, they learned to self-regulate their emotions and continued to build their crochet skills.
This is the start of our self-esteem-building journey. So far, we have learned that failing is okay. We don't know how to crochet yet, but that does not mean we can't. Additionally, we can gain more confidence and become better at crochet if we keep practicing, don't give up, and control our emotions.”

Funded Mar 19, 2019The art supplies have been a great addition to our classroom. Students were thrilled and excited to start using them.
We have been enjoying arts once a week every Friday. One project we have completed is a self-portrait painting. We used the portrait as a front cover to our "All About Me" writing. Another project is the cardboard butterfly painting. Students were able to enjoy time bonding with their big buddies during the butterfly project. These painted butterflies were used to decorate our gardens for Back to School Night. Last but not least, we designed and painted milk cartoons to use as planter boxes. We grew flowers in it and gifted it to our mothers for Mother's Day.
All in all, these art supplies have brightened our learnings with colors.”

Ms. Moua
