My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are low academically. They do not see or use a lot of technology at home. Using technology in the classroom makes hands-on activities exciting for the students and keeps them engaged. When the students are engaged, their learning sky rockets. Students will be able to listen to what fluent reading sounds like through fiction and nonfiction. They will also be able to record themselves reading and practice their reading fluency. I will also record myself so they can hear me read to them. On the iPad, they will also be able to play learning games through apps.
