    I can't thank you enough for your generosity! This has truly made all the difference. Not only do my students love working in these books, they now know the sight words needed for reading success. As a result, more than half of my class is reading above grade level. My students who aren't there yet at least recognize the sight words they come across in their reading books. These sight word books have really helped my students solidify there sight word recognition. With the use of these books, the difference from years past is evident. In first grade it is important that students are practicing and learning their sight words. Sight words are a very important part of the reading process. Many of these words are in the stories children in first grade are reading. Usually I have sheets that students use -that works but managing the sheets are a little problematic. I believe that the journals will be more manageable and students can do more with the sight words and I will be able to see each students progress.
