Colorful Supplies
Funded Aug 19, 2024Thank you for supporting my classroom through the project "Colorful Supplies!" Starting off the school year with colorful reams of paper, vibrant Expo markers (that are not dried out!), and inky pens makes the learning process brighter and memorable for my students!
Students are able to choose the color of Expo marker during their whiteboard activities - allowing them to draw and create as they intend. I like to use colorful paper when printing resources and music for my students because it helps them quickly distinguish their repertoire from the warm ups and other music theory worksheets.”

Funded Apr 2, 2024Thank you for your donations to make this project a reality. My classroom had been working without a pencil sharpener for the majority of the school year! Having a new, dependable pencil sharpener reduced student interruptions and gave me peace of mind that my classroom had a working pencil sharpener.
Classroom disruptions were lowered because students no longer had to ask me for a new, sharpened pencil. Instead, they could silently walk to my desk to sharpen their pencil. They even remembered to wait until I was finished talking, or when it was independent work time!”

Funded Dec 19, 2023Thank you for your contributions to this project. The idea behind this project was to get a set of books that my students and I could use as supplementary materials to what we are already using in the classroom.
My students love the colorful pages of these Orchestral Expressions books. Additionally, these are rich with text that help students use the skills they are learning in their English classes to read and comprehend the music history tid bits that are sprinkled throughout the book.
These books have truly been an awesome resource and we can't wait to continue using them this semester!”

Learning Cursive!
Funded Dec 30, 2023Thank you for your support and donations! This project was designed to help teach my homeroom students how to write and read in cursive.
This project gave my students many different cursive practice books with jokes, fun facts, history facts, and positive self-affirmations. I have found that my students particularly enjoy practicing their cursive with the joke books and the positive self affirmations.
Through our practice, I have seen my students' handwriting and confidence in reading cursive grow. I hope to continue this work with my students.”

Colorful Bow Buddies!
Funded Jan 9, 2024Thank you for choosing my project as one worthwhile to donate to. I have 70 students in my string program this year that will make good use of the five bow bunnies that I received through this project!
Bow bunnies are silicon/plastic bow enhancements that allows beginning students and/or students with fine motor challenges an easier way to hold the bow. It helps mold the hand the correct way and helps the student use correct technique from the get-go.
Every student takes turns using the bow bunny, whether they have the technique down or not. They also find it very fun to use, as it gives them a break from thinking hard about their bow technique! They find it easy to think about left hand technique when using a bow bunny.
Thank you for donating to this project!”

Representation in Music
Funded Jan 16, 2024Thank you for your generous donations to my project "Representation in Music." Through this project, I was able to purchase eighteen picture books, chapter books, and reference books about musicians. The books represent a wide genre of music (everything from classical to rap/hip-hop) and musicians from all different cultural backgrounds.
Students get to choose a book to read based on their comfort/reading level and music interest. We start class with independent reading of their book before getting started on our instruments. Sometimes, students like to share what their learned or read from their books with the class!
These books are such an asset to my classroom. Thank you for your donation.”

Spread the Kindness, Be the Kindness
Funded Oct 17, 2023The materials from this project have motivated my students to be kinder to each other. I have created a wonderful "prize box" for students who are caught being kind.
Students have the option to save their "caught being good " tickets for a larger prize, or turn in their single ticket for a smaller prize such as a sticker or pencil. The weekly trips to the prize box are what we all look forward to each month!
After beginning this program, students have been more aware and cognizant of their actions in my classroom. It is a small step, but I can see the gradual improvement in my classroom environment.”

Funded Oct 12, 2023My students were ecstatic when they saw the stools and new bass bow! My bass players are now more comfortable and have better technique because they can set themselves correctly with the instrument. It is a great addition to the class because the bass players do not have to take time to set the instrument down when I ask the class to clap or point at the music.
My students are excited to have a bass bow that works. We now have one German and one French style bow that are new for the students to use. This allows them to understand how to take care of a bow (properly loosening and tightening the bow for playing), rosining, and cleaning it after practice.
Thank you for believing in the power of music education and using the Equity Match day to its fullest. Without you, we wouldn't have been able to reach our goals as quickly.”

Funded Sep 9, 2023Thank you for believing in our mission to expand our knowledge about financial literacy. The printer toner allows me to print worksheets explaining how to calculate tip, what savings/checking accounts are, and more! Students now have worksheets where they can practice these skills before doing it in the real world.
The pencils and paper have been a lifesaver for our note-taking. No more worrying if students have/need a pencil OR paper - there is enough for everyone. I am excited to continue using these materials throughout the school year.”
