Our school utilizes a web-based curriculum. Each student is able to access their own personalized learning platform and work at their own pace. Lessons are presented on Chromebooks through a variety of modalities. To fully benefit from the features of Summit, my special-needs students need headphones and mice that allow each student to access the audio and text-to-speech components of the program without disturbing other students working near them. With these headphones and mice, my students will have access to learning stations around the room, and I can group them according to their placement on the Summit platform. This is something I can't do right now.
