Funded Jan 22, 2020Thank you so much for your support and believing in our classroom! The students will really benefit from the flexible seating options in the classroom. They are going to love the opportunity to pick a seat in the classroom that is most beneficial to their learning. We are eager for their arrival and we can't wait to start using them. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively. Thank you for your contribution and making the world a better place!”

Creating A Love for Reading Through Storytelling!
Funded Oct 11, 2018I just wanted to say thank you again very much for donating to my Creating A Love for Reading Through Storytelling project! My students were thrilled to open the boxes of books with me and assist with putting them in to our classroom library. Students have loved having the variety of different books to select from our in classroom library and they eagerly wait for their time in the day to read their independent books.
This past month we having been reading the book Home of the Brave during our read aloud time that we have each day. We have been going on an adventure with Kek as he recently moved to the United States and learning about his reactions to the way of life in America. My students favorite part of the book was when Kek put the dishes in the washing machine. While reading the story students have examined the different themes seen throughout the story, analyzed the different characters, and even made judgments on why the author developed the story the way they did.
We will be beginning our next unit of study very soon on our Nonfiction texts. My students have shown great interest so far in many different nonfiction texts that they have found in our school library and on our online reading program. We will be reading The Ultimate Books of Sharks, Two Truths and a Lie: It's Alive!, Discovering New Planets, and Journey Through Our Solar System to learn about main idea, vocabulary, and summarizing.”
