    Funded Oct 2, 2023

We made it! Thank you to everyone who contributed! Together we will be making a positive impact on this school community and these students’ lives!

    Ms. Liberman

  • Middle School Volleyball Club

    Funded Sep 24, 2019

It has taken some time for me to close out this project.

Our Volleyball team made it to the league playoffs and our students learned and grew so much during their time on the team! While students were excited for knee pads, volleyballs and nets; they were more excited by they friendships they formed and new skills they learned. These skills translated to more resilience in the classroom, higher attendance rates and a more positive school wide atmosphere. Even once our school closed due to the pandemic students still joined together for virtual workouts and team building activities. It was a connection they needed.

The team is still going strong even in this post pandemic world and still benefiting from the supplies we were able to secure through your donations!

    Thank you”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Liberman

Hi! I'm a NYC DOE science teacher. My classroom is a diverse group of artists. I teach at the only district wide arts middle school working with 8th graders. Students focus on Visual Arts, Performance and Dance throughout the day in addition to engaging in rigorous hands-on investigations in my science lab course. I'm passionate about making science relevant to our community by approaching science with an eye on equity and our local built and natural environment. Teaching in NYC I also try my best to take learning out of the classroom and into the science rich institutions of our city; like the New York Aquarium and the American Museum of Natural History.
