A World of Science!
Funded Jul 25, 2022Thank you for donating to my classroom. With the funds I was able to purchase a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card which allows me access to hundreds of Science activities. I am able to purchase added materials for independent practice or centers. Also the activity tubs have all of the materials that I need to have the students experiment with various topics. The Giant Science book and the Science Centers give me plenty of ideas to create independent learning centers for my students.
The centers allow the students to work at there own pace and allows for differentiation. While the class is working on the centers with a partner, I can work with my small groups to reteach. The students really enjoy the varied activities that I am able to create.
Thank you again for being so generous and caring to help my classroom. We would not be able to offer such a varied learning experience if not for your assistance.”

Mrs. McDaniel

Funded Aug 6, 2022Thank you again for the generous donation which enabled me to buy science materials for my classroom. The students were extremely excited to have the hands on activities. The New Path board games came in handy when we were learning about the different states of matter and electricity.
These games help make sure that all students are engaged somehow. It also offers the opportunity for peer tutoring while playing. The mini posters help to serve as an anchor chart and as decoration on my bulletin boards. My students are finding out that learning Science can be fun!”

Funded Aug 13, 2021My students and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. The boys and girls are so excited and eager to use the Science Can Do games. It allows them to learn while having fun. We have used the science books to supplement what we are studying in class. The writing centers have been a tremendous help with the new comers who are anxious to learn the English language.
Again, we are beyond grateful for your kindness in helping us be successful this school year and for the students in the years to come.”

Funded Apr 6, 2019I appreciate your generosity tremendously. The materials have helped me to teach my writing class with up to date resources. The Empowering Writers teacher edition, the expository essay posters, and the Post-It notes are an integral part of my daily lessons.
The teacher guide is an up to date version which allows me to teach the current methods of writing. The guide includes materials, examples, and student work which are invaluable. It is easy to navigate, very student friendly, and contains interesting passages for the students.
The posters provide a visual for the students to see exactly how to write an expository composition. There are six posters which explain and illustrate the steps involved. For the visual learners, this is a must. For me, it saves me the time of having to create each poster myself. The Post-Its are handy for providing feedback on each composition. It allows me to make comments without having to mark up the students' papers. That way the students can go back and make the necessary corrections on that same paper.
Again, I can't thank you enough for providing for my students.”

Hurricane Harvey Still Wreaking Havoc
Funded Jun 18, 2018I want to express my heartfelt thanks to you for donating funds for my mobile teaching cart. It has been a life saver for me this year. Since Hurricane Harvey, my school has been relocated twice. This school year, I don't even have a classroom! I have to float on a cart into 4 different classrooms. It is unbelievably difficult to stay organized when I don't have a permanent room.
The mobile cart helps me transport all of my daily teaching materials, supplies, and allows me to carry students papers easily. I am able to move about from room to room with my laptop, my books, markers, pencils, sharpener, etc. Everything that I need throughout my day, I'm able to put onto the cart, or in the tubs.
It is not convenient teaching from a cart, but this mobile cart definitely makes it a little more bearable. Thank you again to my donors.”

Funded Apr 6, 2018Thank you for your kindness towards my students and my classroom. It was a very trying school year after Hurricane Harvey. We were relocated to a temporary campus which turned out to be only for last year. We had to move to another temporary location in which we can remain for the two years before we get our new school is completed. The containers made my packing so much easier and very organized.
I am able to use the filing trays to keep my student compositions organized and separated. I made sure to let my students know that I received the materials because of people and companies who cared about their education. Donors Choose and its generous donors have been a blessing to me this year.”

Funded Apr 17, 2018Thank you for helping to purchase supplies for my classroom. It was such a challenging year for me and my students. The generosity of donors such as yourself helped tremendously in making learning fun. The students were excited to be able to use the Kindle Fires. I was able to set up learning centers where the students could work independently and quietly with the use of the headphones.
With the Kindle Fires, the students were able to access apps which help in reading and writing. Students today are tech savvy and need current technology to keep their interest. Learning is so much more fun when they can use the Kindle Fires than just reading a text book.
The Kindle Fires, headphones, docking station, and plastic containers were so valuable to my classroom this year, and fortunately they will be able to be used in future years. Your generosity will keep on giving for years to come.”

Funded Apr 14, 2018Thank you for providing my class with the Kindle Fires and accessories. My students were delighted to have them to make learning more fun. It was an incentive to get to go to centers and use the Kindle Fires. Not only was it a blast to use them, but they were actually learning at the same time. We were able to use the Kindle Fires to access reading and writing apps.
Students today are so accustomed to using some type of technology for entertainment. Why not have the same technology in the classroom. That is exactly what the Kindles provide. The students are so much more tech savvy than when I was in school. It is necessary to keep up with technology.
It was great to see all students benefiting from the use of the Kindle Fires. My highest to my lowest were able to enjoy using them. Thanks again for your generosity.”

Funded Nov 7, 2017The P.E. equipment you donated to our school is being put to great use. As soon as the materials arrived, the children were eager to begin playing with it. Since we were affected by Hurricane Harvey, the children are having to ride a bus everyday to and from school. That really puts a cramp into outdoor play time for them.
They look forward to having that recreational time at school. The jump ropes provide tons of fun while also helping with coordination. They are able to play with the jump ropes individually or as teams. They have been limited in the opportunities to use the soccer goals, but when spring arrives - watch out!
All of the equipment greatly benefits the children by helping them stay active and stay fit by getting daily exercise. Our school is so appreciative of your generosity and kindness.”

Funded Nov 6, 2017I want to thank you on behave of Braeburn Elementary P.E department. The materials that were donated have truly been a blessing to us all. The children have been through so much since Hurricane Harvey forced us to relocate our school to a temporary location. P.E. and recess provide some relief for them.
At recess and P.E. the students are able to have fun and just be kids while leaving their troubles at home. The hula hoops have turned out to be a big hit with the girls. The boys tremendously enjoy shooting the ball into the basketball goal. The obstacles and cones allow them to play racing games and run obstacle courses.
The new equipment not only allows the kids to be kids, but it enables them to benefit from daily exercise. Their eyes light up when it is time for P.E. They can't wait to see what game or what equipment will be used each day. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and is being remembered every time the students go to P.E. or recess.”
