These materials are engaging materials to help students with severe disabilities become more engaged with learning basic skills, specifically with letter and sounds identification, number awareness, and pre reading skills. Students in my room are struggling with academic, behavioral and sensory needs. Specific objectives students are struggling with are letter recognition, sound identification, number recognition, counting, basic reading skills, and problem solving skills. These areas have been impacted with lack of consistency during Covid. The materials requested will help students by supporting them in these areas. I will use the Osmo and letter games to support pre reading skills. I will use the Osmo math programs to support number recognition. I will use the bee bot to support problem solving skills in my students. For my students with profound disabilities I have requested the electronic phonics letter set which will engage these students in letter recognition. I have also requested the Mushroom Garden light up toy specifically to address number and color identification with profound students. The materials I have requested will be used to directly increase my students engagement in classroom learning of basic skills. Through increasing engagement, students will benefit academically and socially. I have requested several technological items which otherwise my students would not have access to. These will help my students in gaining knowledge and engaging them in meaningful education.
