  • Learning on the Magic Carpet

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you for your donation. It is truly appreciated. Though we are currently going through distance learning, the color blocks rug is going to come to great use when we return. It is in front of our promethean board so that we can do a lot of our learning in an area that is comfortable and that provides students with the space they need to remain focused.

After showing my students the pictures of our new rug, I could see that they were very excited. They thought the colors were bright and beautiful. The rug brings a lot of color to the classroom. We are all very excited and appreciative.

When it is safe, I will allow my students to also use the rug during reading time. Students feel more engaged with their book when they are comfortable and relaxed. They can grab a reading buddy and read on the rug. I am looking forward to the day it is safe for students to return. That will allow us to enjoy the rug to the fullest! Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

  • Remarkable Readers in the Making

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

My class and I would like to thank you so much for your donations! The books that were donated serve as such an amazing tool for Reading. This is because my students have fallen in love with the books. My students have become so excited to learn to read with these interesting and fun books. Not only are these books the right level for my students, but they are also so engaging and exciting to read.

In my classroom, I love to have the students partner up and use the Biscuit Phonics books to learn to read together. I read a lot of Pete the Cat books to my students during carpet time. With these books, I ask comprehension questions. My students have also started taking Accelerated Reader tests on Berenstain Bears books! As a teacher, I am so proud of the growth my students are showing in Reading.

I can see that many of my students are enjoying the new books as they have asked me if they could read one to me or the class. They have also let me know that they are starting their own collection at home. Again, thank you so much for your donations!”

    With gratitude,

  • Spectacular Science!

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Spectacular Science has been very successful in the classroom! When I first told my students that our project had been funded, they cheered with excitement! They could not wait for me to show them all our donations. When I gave the students the microscope cases, they were very engaged and collaborated with one another to get them set up. My students also loved the lab coats. They tell me that they feel like professional scientists!

The donations we received have really helped my students become more engaged and interested in science. We used the Magic School Bus kit to create volcanic eruptions, and my students absolutely loved it! We will continue to use your donations to enhance our science lessons, as well as better engage the students. We are all beyond grateful for your generosity. You have really made an impact in the education of my fifth grade class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ortiz

My 5th grade students are very kind, respectful, caring, and eager to learn. They have a positive attitude, and enjoy coming to school. They come from different backgrounds and appreciate one another. In our classroom, the students have learned to praise each other when they reach a goal. They also encourage each other to do their best. They enjoy collaborating and helping each other succeed. They love to participate in hands-on activities that are fun and allow them to have an enriched education. We are in a low-income district, and my students come from hard working families. Our school has about 1,000 students and has a positive atmosphere. Our administrators care very much about our students, and are always looking for ways to encourage all of the students to try their best at all times. Our administrators are also very supportive to the staff members so that all of us help students be academically successful.
