I'm not sure if you know the feeling of saying "no" to a student when they ask if the library has a book in stock, or giving them a hopeful "maybe" when they ask if it will be bought soon. They turn around and continue their search, but their shoulders sag a little, and their walk is a little slower. When children ask for books, especially books they they LOVE to read, it is hard to say "no." My students will love this new addition of books to our library, which will continue to help them develop their reader identities! These are books they have specifically requested, so they will be read from cover to cover and passed around for the transformative experience to begin again for another reader!
