Dramatic play accessories and furniture will give students a chance to dream, to be creative, and to plan out roles that they would like to assume. While engaging in dramatic play students are creating scenarios, using language and assuming roles within a group. Students will be problem solving and applying theme related vocabulary as they pretend that they are professionals, family members, animals and much more. Dramatic play accessories will help students to develop turn taking and negotiation skills all while having fun and engaging in play. Students will also develop social and emotional awareness as they learn to engage in collaborative play with their peers. Additionally my students will learn about financial literacy as they pretend play that they are store clerks, restaurant owners, cooks and customers. The barn and barn animals will help students become more aware of where food comes from.
