Magic in Their Hands
Funded Mar 30, 2023Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to read their first chapter book. My first graders loved being able to read these chapter books. The Magic Tree House series is a great series to help students fall in love with reading. These books are full of adventures, fantasy, facts, and fun! These books have a way of capturing a student's interest.
My students really enjoyed reading the Magic Tree House in groups. Thank you for putting the magic of books into the hands of my first graders!”

Funded May 8, 2023Thank you so much for my magnet rod, my magnetic bookshelf, and my rolling cart with drawers. I'm using the magnetic rod to showcase the date on the board. I'm using the magnetic bookshelf to showcase the read aloud of the week and to hold my classroom speaker. The rolling cart with the drawers has helped me be so much more organized with all of my weekly copies.
When my students saw all these new additions to the classroom they were so excited! They all watched me build the rolling cart and kept trying to guess what it was and what I was going to use it for.”

Funded May 7, 2022My students and I used all of the items from this project to beautify our Media Center for our Tea Party. When my students walked into the Media Center and saw how it was set up for their Tea Party they were speechless. They started jumping and screaming with excitement!
This Tea Party was to celebrate my students' hard work and efforts they put into publishing their own book before going to second grade. Thank you to everyone that donated and helped my vision of a perfect Tea Party come to life.”

Funded Sep 25, 2021Technology has become an essential part of the classroom. My students use technology on a daily basis. Every morning as they walk into class, my students will start their Reflex Math. Reflex Math is a digital math program that helps students become fluent in their math facts. They use these computers to complete their iReady lessons. My students also use these computers to complete their weekly Reading comprehension assessments on Friday.
My students love using these new ASUS laptops! They have a beautiful sleek look. The keyboard is the best part. The students like that these computers have a number pad on the bottom. These laptops can lay flat open and are extremely lightweight.
My entire class has easily transitioned from the paper pencil assignments to online assignments. These ASUS laptops have been a lifesaver. Every time a student forgets their computer, they don't have charge, or their computer is not working that day, they have this reliable laptop to work on.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you for your generous contribution to our project "Chapter Books to Encourage the Love for Reading!" With Covid and our school media center being closed, I thought it was imperative that my students be given the opportunity to have chapter books in their hands to read.
My classroom was not your average classroom this school year. I was teaching dual modality which means that some of my students were physically in the classroom and some were learning virtually online. We all really enjoyed reading these chapter books together. The students' favorite activity to do with the chapter books was "buddy reading". We would all sign into Zoom. I would group the students into groups of 2 or 3 students. Then they would go into their breakout rooms and read together.
These chapter books made reading come to life for my first grade gifted students. I am so grateful for the support of everyone who donated to our class projects.”

Funded Aug 4, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity and helping me attain this equipement into my household. This will help me bring that classroom atmosphere in distance teaching from home. I am using my new mobile white board while teaching virtually from home. All of our classes are virtual right now. The kids are watching me teach from a computer. Today we were writing word families. The students would tell me a word and I would add it to the mobile white board. The white board is so spacious and big. I am able to write the words big enough for the students to see from the computer.
Before I showed them our mobile white board, I told them that I had a little surprise for them. The students where amazed when I brought the mobile white board into my living room. We had a little "dance party".They thought it was so cool that I had different color markers. I wrote on the white board using the three different markers that my new mobile white board came with. My students even noticed the nice, colorful magnets. They liked how big my board was. Since I was able to use big handwriting, the students were able to see what I was writing very clearly.
Right now I'm using my mobile white board at home for virtual teaching, but when we go back to school, I will take my board to the classroom. I really like how I can move it around very easily and plan to continue using my mobile white board throughout distance learning. I will continue to use it to interact with my students. When we go back to the classroom, I plan to continue using my mobile white board. I can use my board when conducting small groups.”

Funded Oct 3, 2019This technology is helping my students learn in so many different ways. They are practicing their addition facts, doing their computer programs in school, and taking reading tests on books they have read individually.
The most exciting thing for my students is that they get to actually work on their own laptops. They have taken full ownership of them and take care of them like if they were their own. I allow them to practice flexible seating in my classroom, so this allows them to move around the classroom with the laptop and do the work that needs to be done.
All of my students love working on the laptops. They all want to finish their work fast just to get a chance to get on their laptops and finish their computer programs. Thank you so much for providing technology in my classroom.”
