My project will provide flexible seating options for students participating in readers workshop model. Independent reading is a chance for students to dive into a book of their choice and read for extended amounts of time. In order to foster a love of reading students should have the opportunity to be comfortable as well as a variety of book levels to meet all learners. Allowing students to have choice makes them take pride in their learning. My goal is to have enough furniture (bean bag chairs, yoga balls, wobble stools, and seat cushions) to keep students seated and focused on their books because they are sitting where they want to sit and reading what they want to read.
