  • The More Books You Have, The More Books You Read!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

We are so appreciate of your support in donating the Who Was/Who is books to our classroom. We recently covered our information unit in reading & were able to apply a lot of lessons within these books. We were also able to apply these books to our biography lessons and complete an independent project using these books. Each student chose a Who Is/Who Was book to read & created a visual project for an oral presentation on a famous person.

In our classroom, we read independently for at least 30 minutes a day, participate in guided reading, strategy groups, literature circles, and book clubs. These books have been a part of many of our discussions! It's been wonderful to see student engagement and new sparked interest in the genre nonfiction.

So many students wanted to read another Who Was/Who Is book, after finishing their first. We sincerely thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn about famous people and their impact on the world.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hastings

  • Chromebook for Extended Learning!

    Funded Nov 9, 2019

We are so grateful for your donation towards a Chromebook for our classroom. We are excited to see our class set of Chromebooks grow. You have shown my students that there are people in the community who care about them.

You've lent a hand in providing more resources to our classroom. Students look forward to using the Chromebook during math stations, whether it's playing math games or online support reinforcing skills taught in class. I especially enjoy the different math programs offered where I can track student progress. It helps me see which areas students are still struggling and helps me formulate instruction to meet their needs. Students also enjoy the Chromebooks during writing time. They like to type their final drafts using Google docs. This helps students with their typing and editing skills.

Thanks again for support my 5th graders!”

  • Preparing Future Leaders for Our Technology Driven World!

    Funded Dec 14, 2019

Our class is so grateful for your donation towards a Chromebook! We are happy to see our class set of Chromebooks grow. Your support shows my students there are people in our community who care.

You've lent a hand in providing students more opportunities in the classroom. Students can't wait to use the Chromebooks during math stations. I especially enjoy that there are online programs that provide students reinforcement of the skills learned in class. These programs allow me to track student progress to see their growth over time! Students are also enjoying having access to google docs, where they can write their final writing pieces. This provides students with more practice with their typing skills, and makes them more aware of their overall writing craft, as it helps them with their editing.

Thanks again for the opportunities you are giving my 5th graders across the curriculum.”

  • Chromebook for Purpose!

    Funded Oct 21, 2019

Our class is so grateful for your generous donation towards our new Chromebook. We were filled with excitement to know we would be adding one to our classroom. Having to share computers with three other 5th grade classrooms makes it difficult to take advantage of the various resources offered when having access to technology. As we work towards building our class set of Chromebooks, we have you to thank for providing us with our first!

We have used the Chromebook to help with support in math, reading and writing. We have also used it to complete research across the curriculum. Having access to technology has really benefited certain students who have a difficult time staying engaged. Given their interest in technology, they show increasing motivation when they are able to use the Chromebook as part of our math stations, or writing block.

We look forward to exploring more online resources as we become more familiar with all the Chromebook has to offer us.”

    With gratitude,

  • iPad for All!

    Funded Nov 15, 2018

Our 5th grade classroom is so grateful for your gift to us! Having our first iPad in our classroom has helped us in many areas. We are able to use it during our math stations for continued instruction and practice. We have also used the iPad during reading/vocab and to do research for our argument writing!

The students enjoy using the iPad during indoor recess to play reading/math games. They especially enjoy playing games that connect to what we are learning in our curriculum. I have downloaded many apps on the iPad that benefit our students in many subject areas. It is nice to have another piece of technology in our classroom to support students.

Students who have a difficult time reading are able to use the iPad to help support their comprehension by using audio books! Students who struggle in math can practice their facts and do various activities to help improve in foundational skills. Students are able to complete writing assignments and prompts on the iPad. This has been especially beneficial for a couple of my students with motor issues. Thank you for supporting our classroom wish!”
