A Spot for Everyone!
Funded Dec 4, 2023Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your very generous donation! It has been so nice for my students and I to be able to have comfortable alternative safe seating for my students to use during story time and white board writing. The new rug has been a favorite cozy spot to enjoy reading/listening to a story. Seeing my students faces while they are relaxing or sharing the love of learning while sitting on the rug and donut seat, has been priceless.
The peg boards have also been a blessing for my some of my students that need a little extra to be able to have access to the joys of learning. These boards have made it so they can access learning about new topics by viewing, feeling, and holding materials safely.
Thank you again! Your donation touched our hearts in more ways than one!”

Funded Sep 6, 2023Since the swing and chairs arrived to my classroom, I have seen students advocate more for themselves to request a sensory break to use the swing or chairs for a few minutes and then return to their work with more focused. The flow and length of a teaching a lesson and seeing my students retain more from it, has increased. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your very generous donation to my classroom as these items have been a game changer. The whole vibe in the classroom has changed and is full of an atmosphere of positivity and excitement of being in school! Thank you again!”

Funded Oct 17, 2022Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your very generous donations to our project, "Playing our way to Life Skills." My students are enjoying using these life skill games full of real world scenarios that they can relate to real life. They are now excited to learn life skills and ask me, "When can we play the life games!"
Upon receiving the boxes full of games, such as Smart Scoops, Bus Stop, and Friends & Neighbors, my students wanted to dive into learning how to play them all. Some of them responded with "Oh wow, these are so cool," some had smiles ear to ear, and others signed "more" or "Play" as they were just all so excited.
My plan is to first make sure my students are familiar with the concepts that these games provide. Then I want to bring them out into the community to experience these concepts to see if they are able to generalize these skills outside of the classroom, as this is my main goal for them all: to become happy and productive members of society.”

Funded Sep 9, 2021Since these new books arrived in my classroom, my students joy in reading has increased. Each morning, my students take turns picking a new book to read after our morning meeting. They get to sit next to me and help hold the book and turn the pages. Those that can read a few words will help me read the book. We talk about the characters and how they look like us, family members, and/or people we know in our community. It has even opened up discussion on different cultures, what they wear, what they eat, traditions they have etc. These books have made our classroom family even closer. Thank you so much for providing my students and I a passport to countless adventures!”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for helping my students start off their school day in a productive and positive direction. The morning binders are full of functional academics such as calendar skills, practice personal information skills, reading, writing, and math. Each binder is personalized to the skills each students need to practice and are also aligned to some of their IEP goals and objectives. What is most exciting to my students is this binder is personalized to them and they can complete most activities independently. If schools close again or if my students are sent home being close contacts, these binders can go home with them so they can continue with their morning routine. :-)”

Funded Apr 16, 2021Thank you so much for all of your generous donations, especially during this pandemic. It truly means a lot to me and my students that you so graciously helped to provide materials in order to create a sensory room for them to go to. This space was filled with sensory stimulating, calming fidget toys, and activities through the support of you.
When we came back to full in person learning, almost every room and space was being used due to the social distance mandates. The gym was even being used as a café. My students use to be able to travel to classrooms for specials, help the school with vocational tasks, and take movement breaks more freely. When we came back to school, we needed to stay in our classroom most of the day. Thankfully, our administration understood how important it was to save a space for a sensory room.
Every visit to the sensory room was a success. Whether it was a built in part of their day, a space to release some energy or frustration, or just a space to go to when needed, my students always left feeling better and ready to rejoin the learning environment. Thank you again for helping my students feel better about last school year!”

Funded Oct 30, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations for our hands on learning project. These materials were provide to my students during full remote learning to help assist with hands on, non screen time learning and aided in instruction. I was able to create exciting and motivating lessons for my students with these materials. My students parents also really appreciated these materials as it help them assist their children and also provided materials for those moments when being on-line wasn't an option. These materials gave my students the opportunity to continue learning and navigate through these hard times. They learned that they can still learn and participate and became so much more independent. A life skill that all children strive for. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity.”

Remote Learning Made Special
Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for helping to provide these hands-on remote learning toolboxes to my students. Since internet access was limited to many, these academic materials kept my students still engaged in their learning. I personally delivered all of these remote learning boxes to my students and each and everyone of them, including their parents, had huge smiles on their faces! Days later, parents reached out to personally say how helpful having these materials at home were all their children as many shared the material with their siblings. Parents were also thankful that the materials could be used over and over again and was quick and easy to set up vs. logging onto a computer and printing materials out. Such a time saver! I want to thank you again for all of your generous donations! Now time to plan for the coming school year!!”
