  • Love to Teach With a MAC to Help the Students!

    Funded Oct 17, 2019

The Apple Mac book air has enriched my instructions. I am so glad that my class got the opportunity to have apps that could help them become better mathematicians, readers and writers. I truly believe that there is nothing more important than making sure that students today are prepared for the future. Teaching is the most valuable career that sets the future. I have been able to use the MacBook Air as a professional development tool to enrich my students learning experiences and nothing would make me happier than seeing them successful.

One of my favorite classroom moment in the class is when my students were using apps to become better with multiplication. I was amazing on how quick my students were multiplying one and two digit factors. This brought me tears of happiness. My students were excited to be next to find the factor or one and two digit factors. I was amazed to see my students want to study there multiplication facts.

An upcoming topic that I would like to teach my students is music. There are great music apps that could help students. I truly believe that we must work based on the children's interest.”

My students learn best from doing activities and teacher made materials. Students often report they engage better with color materials, which instinctively draw their attention and pique their interest. And it's no wonder: The Association for Talent Development reported that information is sent from the color center of the brain to the areas responsible for detecting motion, shapes, edges and transitions — even if you're color blind. Color can especially help students interpret and understand charts and graphs, and it aids in retention of material covered in class. For example, my students are studying geography in social studies. My students will be provided with colored resources to help them understand physical features and political feature on a map. In ELA students are studying nonfiction. I would love to be able to print color pictures of the topic they they choose to resource. In math we are learning to multiply my students will benefit from having multiplication strategy printed in color, that would attract them and help them learn.
