Many of the children who enter our program have little to no exposure to the letters of the alphabet. Our program has a goal of 80% or more children meeting or exceeding letter id before entering Kindergarten. By providing a “Letter of the Week”, we focus on one letter at a time. Providing a different way of presenting the letter each day to the children, each day, supports children's different approaches to learning. Having a set of the alphabet sounds teaching tubs will be another way of presenting the letter to the children each week. Having a set of the alphabet sounds teaching tubs will provide the children in my class with concrete objects that will help them make the connection to the letter of the alphabet and its sound.
