The students will be more confident in their independent reading when reading these books. When the student cannot read at their level, they become frustrated and no longer desire to read. In addition, I believe all students should have the resources, time and opportunity to become successful readers. The activities will build students' phonological awareness, therefore, building their ability to read various books independently. The phonological awareness activities will keep students engaged in building a foundation for reading. Next, the students will gain interest in reading books through the fiction books in this project. While obtaining knowledge about the world through the non-fiction books.
