Gardening with kids is important! They will learn how to plant and harvest food. "The task of the kindergarten teacher is to adjust the work taken from daily life so that it becomes suitable for the children's play activities, the whole point of the kindergarten is to give children the opportunity to imitate life in a simple and wholesome way." ~Rudolf Steiner, 1923. In our kindergarten we use real tools and keeping them safe and clean is important to us. The Sunflower and Rainbow Kindergartens are planting a garden on our new site. We will grow veggies for soup and herbs for our tea. Keeping tools clean and safe is important for us. This shed will provide a place for everything and everything in it's place. We value teaching children the important skills of gardening as well as that of taking caring for their tools.
