Because our students with special needs are fully included in general education, their needs require frequent breaks to calm and re-focus them. Our resource room is a place where students can jump, throw, draw, rest, spin, dance, hide, talk; be cuddled, loved, squeezed, nurtured, rejuvenated. Swinging is a proven way to calm those with ADHD and autism. The snuggle swing helps comfort by swaddling, which is a therapeutic experience. It promotes coordination and balance, strengthens muscles, and improves motor skills. It helps them to calm themselves so that they are able to return to class ready to focus and learn.
