Innovations For Learning provides online tutoring for students in low resourced schools. The opportunity for students to receive weekly tutoring for literacy helps increase student attendance, confidence, self esteem and students make gains in regards to literacy. The student's tutors are local business professionals that call each student once a week and they're session last 30 minutes. After the tutoring session ends the teacher receives an email from the tutor and they discuss the students needs and gains. Together, the tutor and teacher are working to monitor the student's progress.The student also receives feedback from both the tutor and teacher. Students look forward to their tutoring sessions and at the end of the school year the tutors visit the school to meet the students in person.
