Due to the complex text in Common Core Math problems, I have found that using color coding tools such as highlighters, colored pencils, and pens help my students focus on the key points and numbers. I would like to offer my students color coding tools that I have found keep me organized and attentive to key points. I believe teaching my students how to use color coding to support their mathematical thinking will be a skill that they will be able to use in any and all future math courses. Being able to identify key math points in a given situation will help my students to observe how they are related.
