  • Printing in the Classroom

    Funded May 10, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting this project, and apologies for my delayed response. Having a printer in the classroom that can also scan and copy has been a game changer. As our school site continues to build and endure construction, I have opted to be one of the distant teachers centered in the temporary classrooms. The ability to make quick class sets or print spontaneous handouts when needed comes up much more than I had envisioned. And the students know they have a hub to print in a pinch. It's been another positive piece of building the classroom and the culture. Thanks again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Emam

  • Mathematics, Loud and Clear

    Funded Aug 28, 2022

I wish you could hear these speakers. Words cannot express the difference in volume and potential. As one of the teachers stationed in the temporary portable classrooms, I have a great deal of freedom to really let the students push the volume, and it is night and day when compared to the stock computer speakers of the past. I have been using musical cues as an attention transition tool since setting up these speakers, and the kids have taken to it seamlessly with no objections. They love the beats flowing through the room a relish their chance to rotate controlling the aux. Thanks again for making this possible.”

  • Scanning, Copying, and Printing

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution to make this project possible. Having a family situation that requires me to stay home has made having a functional printer essential for being able to serve my students. This new printer has already allowed me to streamline my return of work through scanned documents, and it makes the raw functions of performing pen and paper mathematics functional during distance learning.

While my students have already benefited greatly with every page printed, they will be able to benefit directly once back in the classroom with this new printer accessible for all. Thank you again for your kindness and willingness to make this happen.”

  • Rounding Up In Math Class

    Funded Dec 9, 2019

These calculators are dope and my students are super excited to have this available technology in the classroom. Thanks to your donations and two successfully funded projects, we now have a full class set of ten calculators and a charging dock.

As you will see from the pictures, I took some effort in personalizing these and coloring the shells in case there is any question as to which ones belong in the class set. The dock is currently set up on the main counter of the classroom to provide a "need one, take one" environment.

These TI84-plus calculators are becoming the new normal for high end functions and graphing. They are also the accepted tool for the advanced placement test. Having these available for student use is paramount for success. On behalf of all my students, thanks again.”

  • Artwork and Immersion in High Definition

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

Thank you so much for providing this digital camera for my students to use. Our learning group has students bring their own technology in from time to time, but this can create discomfort and legal issues when it comes to shared use of private property. The excitement on the faces of my tech kids when we unboxed it yesterday was evidence enough that this is something many students have been hungry for.

This camera will specifically be used for students wishing to capture and blow up images for display in various projects for probability and statistics. This will allow for everyone to print with quality given school resources. It will foster a stronger sense of community as economic barriers between students should become less prevalent in the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Emam

My classroom is riddled with the artwork of students who have found engagement by having creative outlets in the academic setting encouraged instead of stifled. This leads to future generations walking in to ask questions about the imagery they see with a focus on the mathematics and history entailed. When we draft class portfolios, contribute to the website, or simply wish to duplicate creations through media, we traditionally need to use the camera on our phones. Though cameras have improved over the years, most moments where a student with capital brings in a quality digital camera have truly stood out and made a difference for the rest of the class in a positive and powerful way. Donating toward this camera for our classroom would allow students to have a consistent means to capture their work with the quality deserved. I want to have resources available to all students to prevent the shut off that follows with a lack of personal materials to have the same access as everyone else.
