In our Kindergarten classes we love giving students ownership of their learning. Our goal is to use food to help our students with their phonics and sight words. By supporting this project you will help give our students the opportunity to make food items that correspond to each letter of the alphabet. These materials will help students learn about phonics by associating letters with food such as Letter Aa with Applesauce and will tie into a whole thematic unit with letters. We will be able to reach a goal of knowing all of our letters by incorporating these materials into project based learning for our Kindergarten students. With the cup measures, spoons, and bowls students will have a chance to enhance their mathematics by measuring and adding ingredients. The toaster oven and blender will give our students ownership and responsibility as well as independence and teamwork. This project will help our students be extremely successful and independent learners.
