The materials I am requesting for the classroom and my students are essential for their reading level and level of learning.
The racks will be use to transport the bins and the books to the Ramada and/or other areas of the school and provide books for them to read outside during share reading with other grade level students. We visit and are visited by 3rd and 5th graders and they enjoy listening and reading to each other.
It is very difficult to accommodate all the students in one classroom and the level of their voices become high. Having the racks to transport the books and the bins will make it easy. They will have easy access to the books as well.
In class and at home, students work in book reports to improve their language and comprehension. The rack provides a space for the students to have access to materials designated for the assigned book levels. Each students has to provide a short report of each book read and having easy access makes it easy for them to reach the books, sign them out, take them home, and reread them at their own pace.
Reading to Succeed In Literacy is a way of showing students that learning to read is fun, entertaining, and a road to success. Students will have a choice and also a variety selection of books they can call their own. As a teacher, I am always supporting them to become not just better readers but writers, using all the knowledge gain through reading to express their own emotions and thoughts, to dream big, and never give up.
