Accommodations and Access to Art!
Funded Feb 24, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation! We have thoroughly enjoyed our new easel and art supplies. By having these occupational therapy tools, each child is able to access art in a way that also them to be independent and feel confident!
The children were so thrilled to see our new easel and loved that it was an all in one! They couldn't believe it had a place for each paint and to dry their art. They also loved the new OT paintbrushes that allow them to build their finger and hand strength!
Stay tuned for our next project! We hope to be raising fund for gross motor and fine tools in and out of the classroom!”

Supporting Mindfulness, Inclusion, and Positivity Through Stories and Visual Aids
Funded Jan 31, 2021I cannot thank you enough for your generous gift to our classroom. We received our new books and materials in early February, and we put everything right to work. Our new books received a special place in our classroom library, each category has a special section. Every day, we watch as the children investigate the stories and finally see themselves in the books they read: a character with autism who has loving friends, a brown child who is a leader, and an emotional child who is struggling through a difficult time. Our favorite mindfulness book in the series, Breathe Like A Bear, has become a regular routine each day before story time. The breathing activities help us recenter our spirit and prepare our bodies for a more calm time of the day. Our favorite poem right now is, "Drink a Hot Chocolate," we love to pretend to hold a delicious, warm drink in our hands and breathe in the chocolate smell and blow out the breath to make it cool. What a treat for my learners to dream about! Our cricut cutter is helping us decorate our room with amazing affirmations as well, so let me leave you with one of our favorites, "You are important. You are loved. You are appreciated for all that you do."”
With gratitude,
