  • Tech On The Move!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

We are so thankful to now have a complete class set of laptops. It’s so important our students stay up to date with the vastly developing tech world. Our students are so elated that they will each have their own laptop and no longer are forced to share. We appreciate it so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Soriano

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and one other donor.
  • ASD Nest Sensory Stimulation

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for helping to fund my project. My students were so thrilled to hear the news when the email arrived this morning. My students are going to be thrilled to have new sensory materials to explore in their sensory development areas. We thank you for being compassionate to students in our class.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Soriano

  • Tech Devices

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

We want to thank the donors from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful to now have a 75 % complete classroom set of computers, we are only shy 3 computers now. Our students faced a difficult time during the pandemic and unfortunately did not have access to enough tech devices to start the year. We want our students to have the same access as all students across the nation. There were so many adjustments the students had to make and lack of tech devices was one of them. With your help we have been able to bridge another gap for an ASD NEST classroom in Brooklyn. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Soriano

  • Tech in the Classroom

    Funded Oct 22, 2021

We are so pleased to have a full set of classroom computers. My students each received a laptop to support their learning throughout the year. Technology is helping my students stay up to date with current events in the world as well as being able to make cross country connections. I think what is most exciting to my students about the laptops is that it is theirs! Most often students aren't given enough ownership over their materials but these laptops feel like they are theirs. My autistic students were most pleased because they now have access to devices that will support their writing.”

    Ms. Soriano

  • ASD NEST Science Comes to Life

    Funded Sep 10, 2021

We are so happy and grateful for all the donations made by each donor. My students often feel left out and ask me questions about resources I cannot answer sometimes. These resources and materials really brought such a bright light into my classroom. My students enjoy working wit their hands so these materials gave them the opportunity to not only work in groups but to use their hands to build different structures.

Many of the students were excited to find out that these were donated materials. I can see their face brighten up as I expressed to them that complete strangers are rooting for them to be the best they can be. Being remote for so long really put a strain on our students hands on science activity. These materials helped them come to life again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Soriano

  • Expanding Our Minds With Books

    Funded Oct 26, 2018

All of students and I would like to thank all donors. With your support my students will have access to books for guided reading activities. We will keep you updated on our progress as a class. Once again we thank you for believing in expanding our minds with books vision.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Soriano

This classroom project was brought to life by Perry and Donna Golkin Family Foundation and 2 other donors.
The materials will make a difference in the way my students read inside and outside of our classroom. The guided reading books will help create a more print-rich classroom and expand on my students' interest. My students spend a good portion of the day on the rug near our library area. Every book in our classroom library has been selected based on the expressed interest of my students. After having students complete a reading survey I gained a better understanding of students' interests and hobbies. My students are special needs and often express difficulties reading independently. With these guided reading books I will be able to provide each student with the adequate attention needed to help further literacy skills. Having a wide variety of options will encourage my population of students to want to read in guided reading groups as well as independently.
