My students love books! Even those who are not yet literate enjoy opening books, looking at pictures and identifying words they recognize. A library of high interest, low level books will foster literacy and a love of reading. All of my students have learning challenges and unique needs. They also have many interests and abilities. A library of books tailored to their interests and reading ability will encourage them to read. The more students read, the better they become at reading. As reading becomes less of a challenge, my students will be motivated to expand the topics they read about. High interest, low level books will help to foster literacy and a love a reading.
