As a teacher, I've carried a tourniquet in my bag for over 6 years. I have trained to treat trauma and administer first-aid. I've learned how tourniquets, pressure bandages, and hemostatic gauze can all save lives. Chances of surviving gunshot wounds and punctures without these drop significantly without the right gear. Our school needs more than the small kit I carry if a tragedy were to find us. We need a large group kit that can be deployed. When seconds count, help is minutes away. Help us become more ready to deal with this very real threat we face daily.
