The Active Chairs will help my students who have attention deficits stay in one place in the classroom. Allowing them to wiggle and move their bodies, these award-winning chairs just may be the key to focusing their minds. The privacy screens will be an option for students who are easily distracted by their peers' very presence! Allowing students use them if they wish will help them to develop self-regulation and self-advocacy skills. The timers are also for helping students with self-management. I might say, "read for five minutes," that's it--let's set the timer! There is a sense of fun and control in doing this for the students. This is a low-tech "pomodoro app" that can be used to build confidence and stamina.
