Funded May 2, 2015Thank you for helping spread the love for books! Your donation will help my kids take home books for the summer.
In our environment, many students do not have access to literature. I cannot express the excitement and gratitude I feel for your support.
Dr Seuss is a treasured author. As with many first graders, my students gravitate to the Seuss reading bin throughout the school year.
Your generous donation will allow each child to bring the magic of Seuss home!”

Hoot Hoot Hooray! Owl Pellet Exploration
Funded Oct 24, 2014I'm deeply touched by your generosity! As you may recall, this fall you helped fund owl pellet kits for my students to investigate!
The kit provided learning materials on barn owls. We took the month of November to learn all about owls. The background allowed students to build upon their schema prior to the investigation.
My principal observed the day the kids watched the educational video on how to conduct the exploration. The kids were highly engaged. Following the instructional video, the kids worked with partners to remove bones and identify the rodent. We had a highly effective observation with strong student led discussions and a thirst to learn more.
My kids have limited exposure to real world concepts. Providing this experience raised the bar in their educational expectations.
Thank you for helping to provide my students to a unique experience that I'm confident they'll remember for a lifetime!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Saoud
Mad Scientists
Funded Nov 28, 2013Thank you for your generosity! Your donation helped fund a set of x-rays of the skeletal system and vocabulary readers. I can't express how excited the kids were to have new tools and resources to use in our literacy stations and transitions.
The x-rays are used for both transitions and early finishers. To grab attention of students, I play Simon Says with the names of our bones. It was refreshing to change up our routine and reveal a bone in which the kids had to identify on their own body before calling the name. This challenged my little ones!
The vocabulary readers have peeked the kids interest in reading and science content. Students are eager to complete research independently for their informational papers. I'm overjoyed by the ability for students to select their own topic with 6 copies of each book available.”

Fascinating Facts: Science Readers and Centers
Funded Apr 15, 2014I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children. In reading, we so often use abstract explanations to explain abstract things.
The tools that you have funded will enable students to create and explain their own concepts with concrete tools, which will associate to the abstract. In addition, I will be able to use the readers and centers to ensure engagement while teaching cross curricular concepts.
I hope to share with my colleagues a new technique in learning. Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce these tools to the children.”

Funded Apr 8, 2014I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children. In science, some skills are abstract without the tools to assist in students interactions and explanations.
The tools that you have funded will enable students to create and explain their own concepts with concrete tools, which will associate to the abstract.
I hope to share with my colleagues a new technique in learning. Thank you so much. I can't wait to introduce these tools to the children.”

Learning Science Libraries
Funded Feb 5, 2014Thank you for supporting my classroom science needs! The materials will be put to great use as we dive deeper into text complexity through text features and structures. The use of the books couldn't come at a better time as we begin our cross curricular studies in non fiction.
My students are eager to develop their science content and often gravitate to our limited science bin. I'm thrilled to share the news of our newly funded project with my students when I arrive back to school tomorrow! Thank you again!”

Funded May 7, 2013With a progression towards student led classrooms, my kids have become increasingly more excited to take ownership of technology. The biggest impact would be the ability to sit on our carpet without having to "part the seas" so that we can see what is being projected without content being obstructed by little heads and hands.
My students currently use the resource during morning rise and shine binders. After independently working in their binders, kids will come up and share their work on the mobile technology cart. In addition to displaying completed work on the cart, the kids use the laptop as a hub for our smartboard technology!
This product has provided organization for materials and technology. Lost supplies are returned to the cart which has slots to divide crayons, pencils, and erasers which are found on the floor daily. Without the constant interruption asking for lost supplies or where to put found supplies, I can spend the additional time in small groups!”

Mrs. Saoud
The Magic Carpet Ride
Funded Oct 25, 2012Thank you for your generous donation!!! My classroom was selected to be tiled during the holidays so your donation was timely! My kids has enjoyed having the space to spread out during lessons. I didn't realize how squished the darlings were before now! The classroom has never been so bright and cheerful! I've used the rug for calendar and number sense activities. The kids have their own number tiles in their cubbies to 'grab-n-go' during independent or buddy reading. I randomly select buddy reading partners using their numbers in a random generator. Pure excitement!!! Thank you for providing my kids with a magnificent rug and independent carpet tiles!”

Manipulating Math
Funded May 21, 2012I appreciate your willingness to support my class. I received the donation at the start of this school year due to the completion of the project during the summer.
My students have enjoyed using the various math supplies. Pictured are the dice used for subtraction, blocks for foundations to fractional parts, and money for our classroom incentives.
We are blessed to have such wonderful tools as well as many more to be used at the completion of the school year! Please know your donation will be put to good use!”
