  • Digital Readers for Hybrid Learning

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

Thank you so much for the generous contribution! This year presented many challenges, particularly surrounding remote learning. Our school started by being remote on some days, closing for an entire month, and then closing three additional times due to Covid cases. While we were remote I was able to utilize these digital readers through Zoom. This helped me conduct shared reading lessons, as well as guided reading lessons with students. In addition, I was able to utilize the printable copies of the books in my classroom when students were in person. These will continue to be a beneficial resource next year and many years after!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Klein

  • Communication is Key!

    Funded Sep 26, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this project! This device has allowed me to have conversations in person, through zoom, and the phone with parents of my students as well as some of my students who are still learning English. In addition, I was even able to have some of my students speak in their language and allowed the device to translate for me, allowing for better and more meaningful conversations when communication barriers were presented in the classroom. I plan on using this device next year with my new set of students as well!”

  • Organized and Ready to Learn!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

The seat sacks are a great addition to our classroom! The students were so excited when they came back from gym and saw their materials organized on the back of their chair.

They definitely cut down the time it takes for us to prepare for different subjects, as everything now is readily accessible and the students know how to find everything that they need.

We are so grateful for this donation and the impact it will have on our classroom now and in the future, as the students love to take care of their belongings and organize their seats!”

  • Readers Today, Leaders Tomorrow!

    Funded May 8, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom! The students were so excited when they saw all the amazing additions to our classroom library. They have utilized the books during independent reading as well as guided reading.

When selecting the books I ordered I had specific student interests in mind. A group of my students love the "Little Critter" book series, while another group loves reading about Anansi and his antics. They were all equally excited when they saw that we had new additions to add to our small collection.”

It is my goal to allow my student's to develop a love for reading. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students book shop for books that they want to read once a week. Having books that will interest my students will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. My students will be able to choose from books that will allow them to read independently at their own level.
