• Class Book Nook

  My students loved being able to select different snacks that they wanted for their classroom! Once I posted the project for our Reading time "Book Nook" with the request that you all help me give my students tasty snacks to have while they read and the ziplock bags to keep their snacks in students were excited and since have enjoyed our reading time more than before!

  Students were excited to enjoy the treats as they read! This boosted their reading stamina and encouraged them to continue to try and read different books!

• Equity Focus: Representation Matters Celebrating Cultural Appreciation

  My students loved being able to get new, fun, and exciting reading materials for their classroom! Once the materials were here students expressed how happy they would be now while they get to use them for independent reading time in class.

  Students were excited and since then have enjoyed our reading time more than before...especially with snacks! As simple as this may be to you all this really makes all the difference between being able to enjoy their learning space or not.

  I can really tell that student are excited, it is like they got nan early gift right before going on spring break!

  My students loved being able to have AC for their classroom! Once the ACs were here students expressed how happy they would be now while they read and did their work in class.

  Students were excited and since then have enjoyed our reading time more than before! As simple as this may be to you all when your room is upstairs and heat rises this really makes all the difference between being able to focus or not.

  California can be cool in the morning, but by the afternoon it can easily get to uncomfortable temperatures.

  Students were excited to see that this project supports me as a Black teacher and schools where most students are Black! This boosted their creativity and encouraged them to celebrate Black History Month that much more!

• Cozy Homeplace

  Cozy Homeplace was all about helping me give my students a welcoming, inviting, and exciting learning environment as they return to the classroom in the 2021-2022 school year post pandemic. These materials will allow me to cultivate a more culturally responsive temporal environment!

  The students are enjoying being able to use the donations/supplies to be more comfotable in my class and it even helps support them in learning because they feel more comfortable.
