    Funded Sep 25, 2021

Thank you all so much for your generous donations. They will have a huge impact on my students who are underserved. These resources will enable me to create curricula that will meet their varied needs and to plan wonderful literacy activities for them. I appreciate the ability to meet all of their different needs during this upcoming school year.”

    Ms. McAulay

  • Small Group Learning!

    Funded Jan 14, 2020

I apologize if this has been missing; it has been a busy and strange time. While we have been unable to use the the resources provided by you since we went to remote learning, we were able to use them extensively before the pandemic. They were enormously helpful.

I am a special education teacher and always work in small groups. Before I got the easel and accompanying materials, I did not have a good way to provide visuals to my students. The easel allowed me to write notes and draw pictures and diagram which made content much more accessible for my struggling students, not all of whom were special education students. In fact, my supervisor came in to observed and was impressed that I had the easel to be able to provide my students with these visuals.

Thank you very much for your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McAulay

Our classes are too large! There are as many as 34 students on a roster. I am a Special Education teacher and my focus is on our students that struggle the most. Because of our large class sizes and my struggling students, my coteacher and I find that splitting the class into smaller groups is often more effective than whole class learning. Most of our classes have three teachers--the third being an English New Language teacher. Accordingly, we often split into three groups. Each of the three groups must have the ability to take down notes and look at visuals, but we cannot do that in a three teacher classroom without three whiteboards. We have two but we need a third, so that all three teachers can teach their group. Along with the third whiteboard, we need more dry erase markers, in bold colors, to capture the students' attention, and cleaning/erasing materials (we have none). All of these supplies will facilitate the small group learning experiences that will help them succeed.
