As a teacher, it is my goal to not just teach students how to read and skills to decipher through texts but to actually have a love for reading. Having a variety of books in our small group lessons would be helpful to hit both goals of loving books and diving deeper into the text. These books will help reach each of the students on their own level to achieve their reading goals for this year. Number the Stars will help engage the students who need an extra push. While The Outsiders will challenge the gifted students and help create conversation pieces in our groups. Books are key to learning and it's been fun to see how knowledge gained from reading has changed my students lives. "Reading is to the mind what exercise is the the body". -Joseph Addison
