  • Move & Store: Unleashing Classroom Mobility

    Funded Jun 23, 2024

Thank you so much for helping fund our project. The students were so happy when they found out our project had been funded. Receiving two mobile book carts for the on-the-go library in an elementary school will make a remarkable impact on students' reading habits and engagement. These carts, filled with a diverse selection of age-appropriate books, allow teachers and librarians to bring the joy of reading directly into classrooms and common areas. This accessibility encourages spontaneous reading sessions, promotes literacy during breaks, and makes it easier for students to explore new genres and authors. The mobility of the carts ensures that books are always within reach, fostering a culture of curiosity and lifelong learning.”

  • Make a Book - Read a Book

    Funded Jul 17, 2024

Whenever I have my students write short stories or reading responses, I always try to bind them so students can keep them. Unfortunately , I have been unsuccessful with this.

But when I showed them an example of a completed bound book project they absolutely loved it BUT when I worked on theirs, it unfortunately never turns out how we wanted. Not because they aren't working hard or are they aren't creative, it's we just don't have the materials. They are always disappointed in the end result. So when I decided to try and get all the supplies we would need to complete these great projects for our classroom the students were so excited! I would keep them updated on the progress of our Donors Choose and when I told them it was funded they were beyond excited. They were finally going to be able to create the projects that I show them in beginning. They spent so much time writing incredible stories and learning how to use programs like WordArt and Paint, learning to insert pictures into documents and now they will be able to see it all. So my students and I would love to thank you for making this possible.”

  • Let's Expand Our Makers Space

    Funded Apr 17, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting the Let's Expand Our Makers Space for my classroom. Having a stocked Makers Spaces provides a collaborative workspace where my students can work together to create, invent and learn using various tools and materials. Having a hands-on learning space will provide the students the opportunity to explore learning through trial and error and problem-solving which fosters a deeper understanding of subjects such as science, technology, mathematics and art. We filled our first shelving unit with so many cool items that we quickly ran out of room.

When I told my students we were going to add on to our Makers Space they literally went "bonkers"!!! They were so excited. We have researched and watched several videos of Makers Spaces and talked about what we would put in ours if we were ever fortunate enough to get one. And now we have one! Each time I opened a package you could hear a chorus of oohs and awes. I could hear the students saying "look at that", "that's so cool." As a teacher, hearing that excitement is more than I could have ever asked for. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Pezze

  • You Can't Learn When You Are Hungry!

    Funded Oct 20, 2023

Receiving this project was amazing. I can't tell you how many times my students complain about being hungry or have a "belly ache" because they haven't eaten breakfast. It's hard enough trying to keep the attention of elementary students let alone when they are hungry. So as a group we decided to write a project for snacks to have on hand in the classroom. They were so excited by the idea of having snacks in the room all the time.

When I saw that our project was funded I couldn't wait to tell my students. They were so excited and they would ask me everyday if our packages had arrived. Finally, I got to say yes they have arrived. It was like Christmas morning when we started opening the packages.

It is a wonderful feeling to be able to give a student something as simple as a granola bar and watch their entire demeanor change. Thank you!”

  • Start the Year off Right!

    Funded Sep 25, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our project "Starting the Year Off Right", it means so much to the kids knowing that there are people out there who truly care about them. Many people take for granted the basic necessities when it comes to keeping the students and the classroom clean and ready to learn. When I decided to do this project I asked my students what sorts of things would like to keep our classroom and ourselves clean? They said things like paper towels and hand soap. When I asked them what supplies they thought we needed they immediately talked about being able to print their things in COLOR. So when I told them our project had been funded they were so excited.

When the packages arrived it was just like Christmas in the room. Every time I pulled out an item they ooh'd and awe'd. Again, we can not express how grateful we our to have amazing donors like you, that make all of this happen.”

    Funded Sep 24, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting the Makers Space for my classroom. Having a hands-on learning space will provide the students the opportunity to explore learning through trial and error and problem-solving which fosters a deeper understanding of subjects such as science, technology, mathematics and art.

When I told my students we were going to have our very own Makers Space they literally went "bonkers"!!!
