The use of games and toys can be very influential on a young student with disabilities. They will encourage conversation and language during speech sessions. Such items as puzzles, will also be used as a reward, something for them to work toward utilizing at the end of a session. My students will learn to interact and communicate as well as stay engaged in activities while using these products. They will facilitate developmental concepts that are imperative for learning and reaching their language goals. Even basic concepts such as colors, shapes, size, and turn taking can be taught with the shape sorter, ring stacker, and pop up games. I hope that Donors Choose will help me build a fun a educational environment with access to a variety toys and games to meet the functional levels of each individual student.
