  • Improving Classroom Productivity with a Cozy Place to Sit

    Thank you so much for funding my project!!!! My students will now have a welcoming place to sit and be able to enchance their learning with technology. They will be so excited to read on their new floor mat and listen to audio books with their new headphones. My students will also use the headphones to access educational websites without disturbing their peers. This very generous gift will make our lives much easier and give us so much more time actually learning. Thank you again.”

To assure that my students continue to improve their literacy skills it is critical to give them access to leveled books that span the range of readers in my class. I want to make sure that my students are reading books that are at both their instructional level and their independent level. Having them practice their reading and comprehension strategies in books that are too easy or too difficult will not help them grow as readers. For this reason, I am asking for enough leveled books for all of my students. By offering a leveled section in my classroom library, I believe my students will have better access to "just right" books. In return, this will build their confidence as readers, as well as help them continue to build their fluency, reading strategy use, and comprehension skills.
