Desk Shields to Protect Us!
Funded Feb 26, 2021Thank you so much for sending is the desk shields! Our students were thrilled that all of our students are now protected! It has been a difficult time teaching during COVID-19 times. Our students are in blended learning which creates disrupted learning as our children bounce from learning at school to learning at home. When in school, our students have a tough time keeping their masks on as many of them have asthma. Our students also long for peer interactions and constantly turn to their friends to talk. This causes a higher risk of spreading germs.
However, now that all of our students are armed with a desk shield, our students are able to take mini mask breaks behind their shields. They're also able to communicate with their friends through the shields without spreading a lot of germs! Our students are also aware of how much safer it is with the shields as they are constantly noting how the shields help protect them. Our students are also so happy that they get to talk to their friends in a safe manner.
My co-teacher and I thank all of our donors for helping keep our classroom as safe as possible. We hope everyone remains safe and healthy!!”

Help Us Teach Blended Classes Virtually!
Funded Dec 5, 2020Thank you for your generous donations! My co-teacher have been using our Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to purchase fun and engaging academic activities for our students to do during their virtual learning. Since our students are in blended learning, we wanted to make sure that learning at home was just as fun and easy as it is in the classroom! Our students have really enjoyed the activities that we have assigned them. They love the fun graphics and the interactive games. Our parents are also appreciative because the activities are easy to use and many have recorded voice instructions so they can help their child. Our remote classroom has become more fun thanks to your wonderful donations! Thank you all so much!!”

Help Keep My Class Safe!
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for giving our class sneeze guards, baby wipes and disinfectant sprays! As you can see from our pictures, we were able to give some of our students the sneeze guards so that they can be safe from other people and be able to take small mask breaks from behind their barriers. It calms our students' and their parents' worries about safety so that they may focus on the learning. Our students have been using the baby wipes constantly so that they can wipe down their tables before they eat so that they can be sure that there are no germs. My co-teacher and I have been using the disinfecting sprays every morning and afternoon to ensure that the tables and surfaces are clean for our students. We are trying our best to help keep ourselves and the students safe. Your generous donations are helping us greatly and we thank you so much for your support!!”

Funded Oct 22, 2020Your amazing donation has been a huge help to my students, my co-teacher and I. With the Teachers Pay Teacher gift cards, we have been able to purchase both printable and digital resources to help our students learn in literacy and math. Since our class is a blended learning classroom, we have to prepare materials for both the classroom and virtual classroom. Our class has many students who are ELLs and have special needs so we needed to create fun and interactive activities to supplement their learning. Through your donation, we were able to assign work on their devices that were easy to use and matches what they were learning. This helped relieve some stress that our parents had about with technology. The materials that we purchases were for phonics, reading comprehension, and addition/subtraction interactive work. We also purchased some visual aids and materials for our student who has Autism. Our students enjoy their daily assignments because it is really fun and engaging! Thank you so much for your support!!”

Funded Oct 26, 2019Thank you for contributing in buying supplies to supplement our math centers! My students have enjoyed the fun of math through these interactive and exciting tools for math learning. We have being using the hand2hand Versatiles as a part of our independent math center groups. The tools were so easy to use that most of our students are able to use them on their own now! It is also also that they can self-assess and correct. My students love checking each others' boards when they are finished. When the kids first saw the materials, they all jumped up and down and said that they wanted to play with it. Since the activities are so fun and interactive, the kids aren't even aware that they are learning even though they are improving so much! It gives my students confidence in themselves when they turn the board over and realize they are correct. Our next project would be to get an easel for our room so that we can do interactive writing and put up anchor charts at appropriate heights. Please look at our other projects! Thank you again for your wonderful donations and we really appreciate your support in helping us learn!”

Funded May 6, 2019Thank you for your generous donations! The floor chairs were extremely helpful for my students, especially my students with special needs. Most of the students were respectful of the chairs and realized that they were tools to help students stay focused. The students who were given the chair were also really respectful of the other students who wanted to use the chairs and would often extend the use of their chairs to them so that they could also get a chance. The use of the chairs also allowed students to have a comfortable spot to read their favorite books in the library! The clipboards were also extremely helpful for small group instruction. It also helped built pencil grip strength in some of our students.”

Funded Mar 19, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations! Having the printer and ink in our classroom is a life changer. It has fixed many of the problems in our classroom that had impeded the learning of the children. Although the school provides us with a printer, it does not provide us with sufficient ink to print even one copy of educational materials for the students. We ran out of ink by December and have not gotten any additional ink. Therefore, we were unable to print any materials for the class until our new printer arrived! Our school uses EngageNY as our math curriculum but we have to print the hundreds of pages of materials for just one copy of student work. With no ink, that was an impossible task. Every classroom should have a color printer. Many students benefit from learning topics through manipulatives. Having the color printer allowed us to print materials for literacy and math centers for the students to use multi-modal methods to learn.
Our class was so excited to see the printer! We explained the purpose of the printer and the students were ecstatic. They had had some experience of literacy centers which they enjoyed so they were anxious to see the new materials we could make from it. This printer has also allowed students to easily get materials that they missed out on. Since the only working printer in the school is in the office and teachers can't use it, important and urgent materials often take a long time to get to the students. Since the printer has a copying function, we have been able to quickly and easily print copies of materials for the kids to use immediately. The printer has also benefited other classes as the other teachers on the floor has also come by to ask for copying assistance. The printer has been reaching more students than just our class!
The printer have been respected and seen as an important tool in our classroom. Our students have impulsive tendencies and sometimes will vent their anger at class materials but everyone understands that the printer is invaluable. The students often request games, materials or significant items (such as class field trip photos) to be printed so they can use the materials for writing or learning. Our students have shown lots of educational improvements from using the materials in literacy and math centers. They appreciate your support to help our classroom to provide us with an amazing tool. Thank you!”
