Your kind donations have brought tons of smiles and opportunities to learn while playing. These materials have helped the students to become more active and joyful when using the hopscotch. This is the students' favorite game and don't tired of playing it daily. This material is a great addition to our classroom! The Ready, Set, Move! activity set has allowed the children to get up and move with learning and fitness fun. The game is used daily to take brain breaks to help the students to take a break and refocus in learning. Not only does it help the students to get fit by incorporating physical movements, but listening skills and teamwork. The new games help the students to learn and practice math skills that are important foundation skills.

The alphabet squares are helping our students to have flexible sitting arrangements that allows them to feel part of the classroom family. • Books Are Powerful Tools in Children's Hands

    Funded Nov 28, 2017

Your generous puppets and props donation has a tremendous impact on the way the preschool students are interacting with books. The students are more motivated to select the books that have props/puppets to manipulate while pretending to read.

The students were very thrilled to see all the different props available to use while reading books. Not only the students are more eager to read books, but they are learning to develop problem solving skills in regards to who is going to read and who is going to manipulate the props on the felt board. But most importantly, the students are re-reading familiar books, which are helping them with comprehension and vocabulary development. The use of these tangible materials is attracting more students to show interest in books and pretend reading in a playful manner. The use of the props is helping to develop pre-reading skills that will be very useful in the students' learning journey.

The props are placed in the class library for students to choose their favorite book or nursery rhyme daily. The students are encouraged to act out stories and rhymes. In addition, the students are encouraged to be more creative in inventing new stories using the materials. These props and puppets are being used every day to spark love and appreciation for reading. Your donation is greatly appreciated.”

    Ms. Calle

  • Learning Through Music & Movement!

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

The CD player and the Parachute was a hit in our classroom! The students were very static to have a new CD player to continue developing their singing and listening skills. Now they are able to participate and learn new vocabulary in a fun way. The parachute is another great tool that had brought laughter and squeals of excitement while encouraging cooperation and social interaction.

Music is incorporated everyday for the morning routines, which helps to review and practice counting skills, letters' names and sounds, and other science or social studies skills promoting the use of their body through movement. Even students that were shy in the beginning are starting to sing and participate in physical activities! These materials donated has a great impact on all students because it has promoted more engagement and physical movement. Not to forget the equipment cart has helped to keep all the materials neatly stored.

Singing, dancing and moving around is a vital learning method to engage and teach young leaners skills and concepts that are the basic foundation for their life long education journey. With spring season here, the students will be continue to learn and develop their gross motor skills by using the parachute and music. We are grateful for your generosity!”

  • Learning By Listening

    Funded Feb 10, 2012

I would like to express my gratitude for your donation of essential tools that excite my students about attending school and learning. Your generosity has made a great impact on the life and education of these students.

The new rug is used everyday by the students from the morning routines until dismissal. All the students love being able to have their own designated rug spot without anyone being on top of each other. The bright colors and designs motivate them to be more receptive to learning. The cassette-CD player has caused a commotion in the class because all the students want to visit the listening center to hear stories that they love. This is helping them to acquire the new language and reading comprehension skills that will aid them in their future education.

Your benevolence shows that you care about children's education and future. ”

    Ms. Calle

They attend a school in an urban neighborhood in NYC where poverty is very common. I am reaching out to you because the resources are limited. My class consists of 21 Spanish speaking kindergarten students who are eager to learn. Although they don't hit every note, they enjoy to sing on the top of their lungs. In addition, they love to hear stories and participate every chance they can. Every child brings something different to class whether it is the boy who is always helping my students academically or that girl who is always comforting a student. However, as whole they all have a passion for learning and are willing to try their best. We might not have all the materials necessary but they strive to learn everyday. It is their persistent motivation that inspires me everyday and to reach out to donors.
