Funded Nov 28, 2017Your generous puppets and props donation has a tremendous impact on the way the preschool students are interacting with books. The students are more motivated to select the books that have props/puppets to manipulate while pretending to read.
The students were very thrilled to see all the different props available to use while reading books. Not only the students are more eager to read books, but they are learning to develop problem solving skills in regards to who is going to read and who is going to manipulate the props on the felt board. But most importantly, the students are re-reading familiar books, which are helping them with comprehension and vocabulary development. The use of these tangible materials is attracting more students to show interest in books and pretend reading in a playful manner. The use of the props is helping to develop pre-reading skills that will be very useful in the students' learning journey.
The props are placed in the class library for students to choose their favorite book or nursery rhyme daily. The students are encouraged to act out stories and rhymes. In addition, the students are encouraged to be more creative in inventing new stories using the materials. These props and puppets are being used every day to spark love and appreciation for reading. Your donation is greatly appreciated.”

Learning By Listening
Funded Feb 10, 2012I would like to express my gratitude for your donation of essential tools that excite my students about attending school and learning. Your generosity has made a great impact on the life and education of these students.
The new rug is used everyday by the students from the morning routines until dismissal. All the students love being able to have their own designated rug spot without anyone being on top of each other. The bright colors and designs motivate them to be more receptive to learning. The cassette-CD player has caused a commotion in the class because all the students want to visit the listening center to hear stories that they love. This is helping them to acquire the new language and reading comprehension skills that will aid them in their future education.
Your benevolence shows that you care about children's education and future. ”
